THE DESIGN PROCESS
TARGET AUDIENCE ?
"As a creative person, you have been
approached to write, illustrate and
produce a new book".
These are the publisher's requirements:
a simple pop-up book suitable for children
to help improve their reading and to entertain
to be short but interesting
to contain a minimum of four pop-up mechanisms
Who is your pop-up book aimed at?
You will be taught how to make four pop-up
mechanisms that you can use in your book.
You will make models of the pop-up mechanisms
before starting your final pop-up book.
So who is your pop-up book aimed at?
0-3 year olds
4-7 year olds
8+ year olds
Any new products (including your book)
are designed to meet USERS' NEEDS!!

on A4 paper, draw a 10mm
border and add title.
In detail, write a Design Brief.

What is a Questionnaire?
A questionnaire is a list of
questions, that you ask potential
buyers or users of your new
product. You ask them questions
to find out what they would want
in your new product.

Draw your shape of book on 2D Design.
Then cut out your pages on the laser cutter
HEALTH & SAFETY
Always be sensible when using a craft knife.
Always use a steel rule and a cutting mat
Always cut away from your body
