Who was the Buddha?

Buddhism left form
India. Buddhism
went into China,
north and east
Asia, and Sri Lanka
Mahayana was made in Northern Asia.
The goal is to assist people into enlightenment.
Mahayana is also called,(Great Vehicle.)

Vajrayana is called the "Diamond Vehicle."
It was made in the 7th century C.E.
Bardo Thodol means Tibetan Book of the Dead.


The eight fold path means

Right Speech
Right Understanding
Right Motivation
Right Action
Right livelihood
Right Effort
Right Mindfulness
Right Meditation
-A 2500 year old tradition that originated in the far East of India.
-Buddhism is fallowed by 300 million people.
- Based on the teachings of the Buddha.
Buddha- the teacher
Dharma- the teachings
Sangha- the community
The Buddha was born in 563 B.C.E.
The Buddha was going to be the king.
He spent 45 years teaching other people how to achieve peace of mind.
He felt sad for suffering people, so when he was 29 he didn't want to be king anymore. Then he wanted a solution for suffering.
He meditated under a tree for 7 weeks
