Basic Business License
A BBL is a document issued from the DCRA's Business Licensing Division and is required for such business activities as the operation of restaurants, convenience/retail stores, consulting firms, home improvement businesses, and many more.

Bins must be undamaged
All trash must be bagged
All trash must be in the bin
Lid must be able to close
Addresses must be visible on the bin
Must be clean and residue free

Boxes must be broken down and neatly stacked
What if I have bulk trash, or my cans were missed for pick up?
DC and the University can impose fines and/or sanctions for violations
Holidays may cause trash slides; your trash and recycling collection will slide to the next day.
Bins must not be on Public Display
Residences may have no more than 2 trash bins and 1 recycling bin
For collection, bins go curbside
Litter in front of the property must be picked up
Bins must be located at the back of the property, directly behind the house
For collection, bins go to the edge of the alley
Bins should not be clustered with bins from another house
Bins should not block the alleys

"It is unlawful for a person to make unreasonably loud noise between 10 PM and 7 AM that is likely to annoy or disturb one or more persons in their residences."
Excessive noise inside or outside of a building is unacceptable. This will mean that if noise can be heard beyond the property line, it is probably too noisy, taking into account the time and nature of the activity generating the sound.
