JOB ROLE: FINANCIAL ANALYST
Period: 2006 - 2009
I used to call Celestica "my mother company", because it was the first step in my finance career. It was the place where I realized I really wish to follow the career path in corporate finance.
This particular job role was part of the controlling department organized in "customer structure". Each customer had its own financial controller, who was fully responsible for its P&L (profit and loss statement) and key BS (balance sheet) items mainly focused on working capital.
The responsibilities consisted in regular month closing activities (manual journal entries) and updates of full year P&L forecast on monthly basis with focus on quarterly performance (comparisons with previous forecast, yearly plan, quarter to quarter comparison etc.).
The other responsibilities covered more detailed support reports and analysis (inventory report, consumables, material write off, purchase price variances (PPV), MVA analysis, overdue accounts receivable etc.).
As financial analyst I also actively participated at statutory audits, SOX testings and other internal accounting controls.
As I started in Celestica directly after graduation, I basically started from the scratch. It gave me a huge opportunity to prove how quickly I can adopt, learn new things and accept more responsibilities.

JOB ROLE: FINANCIAL ANALYST
Period: 2010 (Jan - Jul)
Year 2009 appeared to be a critical year for Celestica's factory in Rajecko. The site went through several restructuring waves and most of the production was consolidated with other close Celestica's factories. One of the Celestica's customers, Tyco, was offered to acquire Rajecko site to continue with its production there. Rajecko's acquisition was announced at the end of 2009 with official start date 1st January 2010. Tyco opened here a division Safety Products and established a new company Tyco Fire & Integrated Solutions, s.r.o.
I was offered a continues contract in role of main financial analyst for Tyco. My new challenge was to transform Celestica's reporting system into Tyco's reporting structure.
I was part of the small team which performed the mapping of chart of accounts, setup of reporting categories, tracking system and setup of the ERP system.
The transformation was enormously time and skill demanding. The key reporting structure had to be implemented in 2 months with continued implementation of other system features in following months. The mission was successfully accomplished during Q2 2010. In that time I decided to leave the company to explore the finance controlling outside of manufacturing. Feeling that after 4 years I achieved solid background from manufacturing financial area, I decided to explore financial controlling in area of providing services...
JOB ROLE: FINANCE TEAM LEADER

Workplace: Rajecko (Blansko), Czech Republic
Looking for the finance job in services I succeeded with interview in IBM Global Service Delivery Center in Brno. I started on position of senior financial analyst with full responsibilities for financial reporting of the center, including preparation of yearly plan, regular month end closing activities, monthly reporting package, financial reviews with local, EMEA and WW Finance management.
After one and half year (early in 2012) I accepted an offer to take more responsibilities as team leader of local finance team consisting of 3 financial analysts and 3 additional finance support roles.
The extended role opened new challenges for me, especially in the area of people management. I acquired excellent technical and analytical skills in previous years, which were always the base I used to build my success on.
However people management responsibilities are more demanding on soft skills and leadership and therefore it is one of my main focus points in my professional development.
