Subject: Scheduling an Advising Appointment

Hello Millie,

My name is
*Student Name Removed*
, and I’m currently a freshman majoring in Fashion Design. I have some rather big concerns about my classes as well as my major. I’m sure the first few weeks of school are quite busy for all the advisors, but if it’s possible I would like to schedule an appointment with you at your earliest convenience. Please let me know what would work for you.

Thank you so much,
*Student Name Removed*

Subject: Advising question

Hi Laura,
I am design student and had a few questions regarding the upcoming term. In order to make sure I am track for graduation, I would like to know the minimum grade I would have to receive for each of my classes. I was able to find my gpa, however I am not sure how to calculate what grades I will need to have in order to make sure I graduate with at least a 2.5.

Thank you.

Subject: Changing my course from audit to non audit

Hello Advisors,

My name is
*Student Name Removed*
and I am in need of help. I need to change my classes from non audit, but it is not giving me the option to change them at all in Flashline. I am not sure how to change this.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Hi, I need to get into Professional Seminar if possible.
Subject Fashion Retail Industry - Flashnotes

Hello Everyone!

I hope Fashion Retail is going well for you all. My name is
*Student Name Removed*
and I wanted to tell you all about my account on www.flashnotes.com. Flashnotes is a place where students can upload and sell notes, videos, flashcards, and even offer tutoring to other students for certain classes.

Since this is basically a 100% online class, it can be challenging to keep up when you have the privilege of going at your own pace.

On my account, I am selling my Fashion Retail notes that I have uploaded and taken from chapters in our textbook Retailing Management. More chapters are soon to come, and I will continue to upload chapters as we progress through class, eventually making a bundle for the the final exam chapters.

If you are struggling in the class or would just like some easy notes to help study, please visit my account at http://www.flashnotes.com/ profiles. If you have any questions feel free to contact me!

Thanks for your time!

Subject: URGENT SCHEDULE ISSUE

Please tell me how you can resolve this situation by either watching for the classes I need on my behalf and registering me for them when they open up, contacting the dean of the Fashion Design school to open up slots for me, or whatever other things you can do to correct this situation. Also I would like to have a face to face meeting with you today or tomorrow and discuss the plan you have for getting me the classes I need.

Thank you

Subject: Re: Your Kent State Academic Advisor

I've taken the placement test, I didn't do so well.

Subject: Problem Registering

Ms. Caparanis,

I'm having trouble signing up for three of my classes. I've tried multiple times and I can't get in.

I was trying to sign up for Communication Research Methods (12839), Fashion Visuals (14206) and Intro. to Fashion Technology(14221). For the communications class, it said I needed a prerequisite class or test score. For both fashion classes, it said I needed special approval.

Thanks for your help!

Subject: Re: Advising Appointment today

Hi Brittany,

I hope you had wonderful Christmas with family and friends.

I decided to switch from Fashion Forecasting to Contemporary Fashion Designers for Spring 2016 semester. There were openings in the Contemporary Fashion Designers class so I attempted to registered for it. The system won't let me register for the course. It says, "Course has a prerequisite and/or required test score. Click CRN from Look Up Classes search then click View Catalog Entry for requirements. Contact the dept/campus offering course."

On my GPS audit plan, in the info for Contemporary Fashion Designers it says "Prerequisites: FDM 20013; and fashion design (FD) major." FDM 20013 is not one of my required classes for Fashion Media minor and I am a magazine journalism major. Am I still able to take the class? Contemporary Fashion Designers is a part of my course requirements to complete my minor. If I am able to take this class, could you please fix this register problem, so I can get into this class? Thank you for your help in advance.

Have a happy Hew Year,

Subject: Fall Scheduling

Tasha,

My name is
*Student Name Removed*
, I'm going to be a senior this fall with a major in Fashion Merchandising and two minors in Fashion Media and Public Relations. I am having trouble enrolling in theses two classes, Product Development and Computer Apps which I desperately need in order to stay on track to graduate. I've been checking back every few days a week since I first scheduled back in March/April and no spots have opened. I know it's only mid-summer but I am nervous I won't get into these classes. Please let me know what I should do from here. Thanks so much, any help is greatly appreciated!

Best Regards,
