Welcome to Teaching in Abu Dhabi Welcome and we are so pleased that you are considering
joining us in Abu Dhabi Public Schools. DOCUMENTS ARE CRITICAL.
Please make sure you downloaded and read carefully the documents available in your email. These documents contain critical information for you and your family as you begin to process your professional documents. The UAE is situated on the north-eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula and is bordered by Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman. The country is made up of seven emirates Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain. The emirate of Abu Dhabi stretches from the Arabian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman. The city of Abu Dhabi, located on a low island, is a lush and modern metropolis. Al Ain, the second city within Abu Dhabi emirates is east of the Oman border and is an oasis town surrounded by desert. Abu Dhabi Educational Council (ADEC) has schools located throughout the Abu Dhabi Emirate. You may be assigned a school anywhere within the Emirate. This maybe in the city of Abu Dhabi (on the island) or it may be in one of the smaller desert towns (off island). ADEC will make these assignments after you have signed your contract. If you are assigned off the island of Abu Dhabi you may have a commute of 30 to 60 minutes from your flat to the school.
