'Origins of the word
pornography come from the Greek word ‘Porno’ and ‘Graphia’ meaning ‘depictions and writings of the activities of whores.'
A well accepted definition of pornography is ‘sexually explicit media that is primarily intended to sexually arouse the audience.”
Let's hear it from
an

"BIG PORN INC. - Exposing the Harms of the Global Pornography Industry."
By Melinda Tankard Reist and Abigail Bray
“There is so much about the industry which is destructive, but my main concern is the impact on the developing sexuality of young people.
Many boys are looking at porn to learn how to relate to girls. 70% of Australian boys have seen porn by the age of 12, 100% by 15!!

Fosters a disrespectful and aggressive attitude towards women.

Damages a man’s ability to form healthy relationships with women.

Negatively impacts self esteem and
identity.

Negatively impacts employment and
education.

Increased acceptance or practice of
sexually deviant and criminal behaviours.

Impacts the behaviour of young women.
Rather than receiving correct and appropriate information about sex and relationships and learning attitudes of respect and wonder or appreciation for women, many young men are learning about sex in destructive ways.

Lets hear it from a 15 year old boy:
“I viewed porn to learn about sex. Then when I acted what I had seen on a girl, I was so surprised to discover that she didn’t like being hit, slapped across the breasts, having her hair pulled or being called ‘bitch’ and ‘whore.’
I was honestly surprised!”

Research shows that the impact of porn on
teen boys contributes to calloused view
towards women, a tolerance of violence and
sexual harassment, and a view that it is OK
to hold a woman down to have sex with her.
We are socialising and conditioning boys to see women and girls as sex objects, training them in a brutal version of masculinity. They learn that violence is sex because they see it eroticised in pornography.”
Children are naturally curious about sex and sexuality. This is a normal and healthy aspect of their development. Unfortunately, without appropriate adult guidance this curiosity has the potential to lead them to some of the darkest places of society. What should be a gradual awakening to the fullness of their capacity for human relationship and connection can be quickly channeled toward self obsession, abuse of others and addiction.

"Young people today are swimming in a sea of sexual messages, over time these images have the potential to
powerfully impact attitudes
and ultimately shape behaviour!"

What parents can do to protect their kids:
Become more involved in their lives
Promote Positivity - Porn is negative, Purity and Respect is the Positive
Monitor their online activity, and help them make good life decisions.
Important for parents to step in when they need to.
There's nothing wrong with networking and social media, but
everything needs to be in moderation.
have filters ON at home.
TALK to your kids about the issue.
(if you don’t someone else will, and it may not
be someone who shares your views)
In 2003, the Australian Institute Study on Youth and Pornography in Australia showed that:

9 out of 10, 16-17year old boys think it is widespread among their age group to look at internet sex sites.

83% of girls believed
boys looked at internet
sex sites.

84% of boys and 60% of
girls had been accidentally
exposed to sexually
explicit material while
using the internet.

2 in 5 boys use the
internet deliberately to access pornography.
Painful

of Pornography
Pornography is highly addictive by nature.

The Power of Women
Women have the power to make or break a man!
“When a man loves a woman, he has to become worthy of her. The higher her virtue, the more noble her character, the more devoted she is to truth, justice, goodness, the more a man has to aspire to be worthy of her. The history of civilization could actually be written in terms of the level of its women.”

Creating the Campaign!
