Technicians are prepared for heavy Duty and Off Road Equipment

Must be able to use industry standard tools and equipment to diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, drive trains, steering and suspension systems

Technicians must possess knowledge of Diesel Engine and Heavy Duty Equipment

Technicians are prepared and equipped with general welding and safe equipment operation
The diesel engine is the workhorse powering the Nation’s trucks and buses. Diesel-powered engines also are becoming more prevalent in light vehicles, including pickups and other work trucks

Increasingly, technicians must be flexible, in order to adapt to customers’ needs and new technologies. It is common for technicians to handle all kinds of repairs, from working on a vehicle’s electrical system one day to doing major engine repairs the next

Diesel maintenance is becoming increasingly complex, as more electronic components are used to control the operation of an engine
Automotive service technicians and mechanics must continually adapt to changing technology and repair techniques as vehicle components and systems become increasingly sophisticated
Today’s vehicles are built from advanced materials

Technicians must have the skills to be able to adapt to these changing technologies

The technician makes the repairs using a variety of equipment and tools
