Possessive Pronouns
a pronoun that indicates possession
- Hers, his, its, mine, ours, theirs, and yours
a pronoun that refers to a specific person place or thing
What are Pronouns?
A word that takes the place of a noun
Some common pronouns used include:
- He,She,They,None,Which,It, and Who
Pronouns
Examples:
The was barking.

is a dancer.

replace the name of the subject in the sentence.
( I, you, he, she, it, they, we)
take the place of the object in the sentence.
( me, you, him, her, it, us, them)

used when the object of the sentence is the same as its subject.
Each personal pronoun has its own reflexive pronoun.

-all pronouns and antecedents must agree in
person

Agreement in Number
Singular antecedents get singular pronouns
Example: The

Plural antecedents get plural pronouns

Agreement in Person
If you are writing in first person, then the rest of the pronouns should also be first person.
Example: I enjoy playing soccer because it is a fun thing for you to do.
