Founders
Purpose
To inculcate principles of high ideals and proficiency among teachers
To stimulate a feeling of sociability and to preserve in after years the friendships of college days
To provide a common meeting ground where a selected group might meet to advance Negro citizenship, not as reformers but as educated women devoted to the preservation of american ideals.
Mission Statement
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority's aim is to enhance the quality of life within the community. Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmarks of the organization's programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically, and economically
