Astronomers reject the idea of Nibiru, and have made efforts to inform the public that there is no threat to Earth in 2012.
They point out that such an object so close to Earth would be easily visible to the naked eye.
Also a planet such as Nibiru would create noticeable effects in the orbits of the outer planets. Conclusion Thank you for your attention! Mayan Calendar Prehistoric Doomsdays Mayan Civilization is full of mysterious and Mayan people showed great achievements in mathematics and astronomy.
For example, by the modern technique, the precise time for one Solar Year is:

365.2422 Days

And before more than 2,000 years, Mayan already know the time for one year is:
365.2420 Days

Which means even for 5,000 years the error will be only one day ! Mayan had many important calendar, two common calendars are Tzolk'in and Haab. 365 x 52 = 260 x 73 = 18980
Thus forms a life-long circle for people to record their life. Mayan, like other ancient civilizations, believed that time is circular. But they also had strong understanding in past and future.
Thus they invented the Long Count Calendar. 3113 BC 2012 AD 11 August 3114 BC Long Count Calendar is a linear calendar, and it uses serial vigesimal numbers to represent the date. Thus it can identify every day in unlimited time. In Mayan literature, there is a strong tradition of "world ages". They believed there were already three worlds be destroyed by catastrophe, and we are now living in the forth world. Mayan also believed the previous world last for 13.0.0.0.0, or roughly 5,125 years They counted 11 August 3114 BC as the zero day of new age, and their long count calendar last for another 13.0.0.0.0 13 is an important number to Mayan, which represents the level of Gods. And thousands of years passed, now we are facing the last year in the Mayan long count calendar. Some Mayanist explained that Mayan believed after the long period it would be the beginning of a new world, but... 21 December Will it also be the end of our old world? So the length of their long count calendar, 13.0.0.0.0 should not be meaningless. SHEN, Linghao 1155013378

It was just a coincidence? Earth’s liquid-iron outer core will spin Planet’s crust and mantle will shift Path of the sun in the sky would appear to cross the midpoint of the Milky Way, appearing as a cloudy stripe across the night sky
This would expose Earth to some unknown forces - “Pole Shift” Galactic Alignment Galactic Alignment Breakaway oceans and continents Massive solar radiation destabilizing the inner Earth by heat Extreme gravitational pull Galactic Alignment Overall, there is no increase in natural disasters
Only explained by global warming for increase in storms and floods What explains the increase in natural disasters this year then? Keeping bad news from the population usually backfires
The real world have a good record of helping each other in a time of danger actually The government is just trying to keep it a secret so it wouldn’t cause panic Refuting Claims Marketing campaign for the film 2012: fictional “Institute for Human Continuity” called on people to prepare for the end of the world. These promotions did not mention the film itself, so viewers believed them to be real Sales of private underground blast shelters have increased noticeably since 2009 Government In Brazil, some cities has mobilized the population to prepare by stocking up food and supplies

No one knows what would happen in the future...

Although prophecies of the doomsday are being spread all over the world, people keep their own beliefs.

No matter the Doomsday will come or not, the only thing we should do is to treasure what we own right at this moment.

Protect the Earth as possible as we can!! Do You Believe in the Doomsday? Methodology ANOVA Stand for Analysis of variance
Focus on the factors which effect people's strength of belief toward the 2012
Take the popular 0.5 as our p-value in the analysis Statistics Data collected by online survey. Questionare can be found in follow link:

83 samples are involved in our ANOVA test.

Collected data can be retrieved follow this link: *Some analysis involve short answer questions are done manually https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B3-esc2aSZZhbFNkOGwzNEFXR1E Analysis & Results http://www.my3q.com/survey/448/stein/45773.phtml Gender Age Male Female We are interested in the following factors:
1. Gender
2. Age
3. Religion
4. Knowledge of 2012
5. Belief in Occult Belief of Occult What's the factors that affect the people's belief of 2012? Religion Knowledge of 2012 Conclusion We can derive some useful information from the result we got 1. The effect of superstitious and religious belief are the lowest among all the factors we tested.

2. Gender becomes the most significant factors.

3. The person with part of information about 2012 tend to have stronger belief.

4. Extreme belief value(> 6) mostly appears in teenagers. The Nibiru collision is a supposed disastrous encounter between the Earth and a large planetary object (either a collision or a near-miss) . Nibiru (Planet x) 10th planet of solar system.
Orbits the sun every 3600 years on its elliptical orbit.
Volume similar to Jupiter.
Has 5 satellites. Nibiru collision Nibiru is a term in the Akkadian language, translating to "crossing" or "point of transition".
The idea of the Nibiru collision originated with Nancy Lieder, a Wisconsin woman who claimed that as a girl she was contacted by gray aliens called Zetas, who implanted a communications device in her brain. Origin Uranus and Neptune's orbits are abnormal. Evidences Scientific criticism The End Q & A Session Confirmed such has happened before
The process took millions of years
Subtler shift could occur
White streaks are actually “thick dust clouds” called the Great Rift
Pull of the Black hole decreases exponentially with distance away from it Galactic Alignment Another mispreconception:
the Earth will be lined up with a black hole
the massive gravitational force will suck in the Earth 260 x 73 = 365 x 52
Two calendar meets every 52 Haab years to form a life-long cycle Conspiracy theories Many believers in the imminent approach of Planet X/Nibiru accuse NASA of deliberately covering up visual evidence of its existence. One such accusation involves the IRAS infrared space observatory, launched in 1983. Astronomers reject the idea of Nibiru, and have made efforts to inform the public that there is no threat to Earth in 2012.
They point out that such an object so close to Earth would be easily visible to the naked eye.
