There are 3 different types of racism they are: Between 12-16% of Canadians admitted to strong intolerance based on race. 94% of employment agencies say that they have rejected job seekers based on their race. 31 out of 73 Toronto landlords do not let people of different colors buy their properties. People are still thinking racist thoughts, saying racist things, treating people of different color badly and still not giving jobs homes and other resources to people with different skin color. * Racism has been around for centries and it still is today. Racism is judging people by the color of their skin. Individual, direct racism: is judging someone by their skin color or race instead of a group of people. Subconscious, indirect or unintentional: When people judge other groups of people because of stereotypes and fear. Institutional or systematic: when government, agencies, businesses and organizations that limit opportunities for other races. Four significant changes have occurred in Canada from
the past 40 years which are: First Canadian institutions and organizations are
less likely to acknowledge discrimination of another race. Second all races can immigrate to Canada. Third the symbolic order of race and ethnicity is changing. Third, the symbolic race and ethnicity is changing Fourth, there is no longer a clear cut pattern of disadvantage that is rooted solely in racial discrimination.
