Transcript of WHAT DID CARTIER DO ON HIS VOYAGE

On April 20 1534 Cartier set sail hoping to discover the wealthy markets of Asia. He was search for precious things like gold. It took him twenty days to sail across the ocean. On May 10 that year he started exploring Newfoundland and Labrador. Cartier was sure he reached an Asian island.
Conclusion
Jacques Cartier was a voyager to 1534 and 1542. He was the first european to describe a map. he died on 1557 at the age of 65.

Jacques Cartier died on September 1. 1557 in the kingdom of France. He was 65 years old when he died. possibly died of typhus otherwise his death is unknown.

Jacques Cartier was born on December 31, 1491, in Duchy of Brittany. Jacques Cartier was an explorer. He was sent by king Francis find a new route to Asia for the riches. Was the first European to describe and map the Gulf of Saint Lawrence.
First Voyage
Jacques Cartier started to explore in 1534 when he discovered Canada. He left for his first Voyage in 1534 and he left for second voyage in 1536 and left for his third voyage in 1542.
Second Voyage
Cartier set sail on May 19 1536 with 3 ships and 110 men. He reached the ST.lawrence river and sailed up the river for the first time. He reached the Iroqouian capital of Stadacona where Donnacona ruled

Third Voyage
In 1542 Cartier left for his third voyage with 5 ships. Cartier abandoned the idea of finding a passage to the Orient and was sent to establish a settlement along the St. Lawrence river.
