Funk Music
Funk Music started in the mid to late 1960's. During the funk era many famous and important people were born such as John Elway, Cal Ripken jr., and Dominique Wilkins. During the funk era John F Kennedy became president and the U.S. beat the USSR in Olympic Hockey.

James Brown
James Brown was born May 3, 19and died December 25, 2006. He founded funk music and was an important musician during his era.He sang funk and gospel music during his career. He also perfrmed with the band " Famous Flames" and recorded many hit songs like "NIght Train" James Brown was the father figure for all funk music according to Rolling Stone magazine.
Earth, Wind, and Fire
Earth, Wind, and Fire was the most successful band of the 20th century according to Rolling Stone. Band members Maurice White, Phillip Bailey, Verdine White, Ralph Johnson, Larry Bunn, and Al McKay have been playing together since 1971 and still continue playing today. There famous song September has earned them many awards over the years.
Stevie Wonder
Stevie Wonder was a child prodigy and signed his first deal when he was 11 years old with Motown's Tomalal. During his music career he received 22 Grammy awards and had over 100 million listens on all of his albums combined. He performed many hit songs like "Living For The City" and "Superstition." He did all of this while being blind. Stevie Wonder never let his disability from preventing him to make music.
