Take note in how it seems the passengers are being relocated on an ordinary train to a new ordinary town- when really they are traveling to their deaths. Ten new were installed In October 1942
Held 600-3800 people at a time
No room to fall when dead
15,000 people could die a day
400 by 600 yards Drawbacks with chambers Some people were too ill to walk to chambers brought on stretchers to fake infirmary
shot and thrown in pit Three small chambers At first chambers were not ready, so they gunned Jews
Operated by captured Russian tanks & trucks
Can hold 200 at a time
Made to look like public bathhouses
13 feet by 13 feet Process Zyklon crystals poured in showers, which was much more effective than Carbon Monoxide
People coughed and choked Camp Facade To hide camps intentions, they made camp look like a railroad station
Had schedules, timetables, advertisements
Road a ran few yards to gas chambers
Chambers appeared to be stores and shops Why Nazis Killed Secretly By concealing mass murderers, Nazis did not have to worry about non-Jewish population coming to the rescue
Many People wouldn’t mind if Jews were sent to unknown location, but they might protest if they knew Nazis were killing women and babies in cold blood
Denial & blind obedience of German population assisted Nazi’s greatly How Camp is Run Prisoners not put to work
Except to run killing process
Used other camp’s experience to cause more deaths
Ran by 25-30 SS men, 80- 120 Ukrainian guards, but mostly ran by 700- 800 Jewish prisoners Bodies Himmler ordered burning of all bodies
Crane came to dig up bodies faster THE END. BIB Byers, Ann. The Holocaust Camps. Springfield, NJ:

The bodies were place on grates and burned whole within the wood and ash located 2km south of extermination camp
opened between June 1941 and July 23,1944
In this time half of 20,000 inmates died from execution, exhaustion or mistreatment Barracks This is where the victims undressed
One was disguised to look like a railroad station- right down to a clock
They were both used to contain clothes and belongings of prisoners
There was a cashiers office that collected jewelry and money for "safe keeping" There was also an infirmary where the sick, old, wounded, and dead were taken
There prisionors were led to a pit where bodies were burned
They had to sit at the edge until they were shot in the back of the head and fell in The Jewish Prisoners were organized into specialized groups Blue Squad responsible for unloading the train, carrying the luggage and cleaning the wagons Red Squad responsible for undressing the passengers and taking their clothes to the storage areas Money Jews In charge of handling the money, gold, stocks, and jewelery
They were forced to search the prisoners just before they went into the gas chamber Dentists Open the mouths of the dead and pull out golden teeth The Jews of Death Lived in Treblinka 2
forced to carry the dead from the gas chamber to the furnaces
sifted through the ashes of the dead
grind up recognizable parts, and bury the ashes in pits Keepers Took care of upkeep of the camp Camouflage Kommando Went every day into the forest and gathered branches to camouflage the camp and the "funnel" by weaving branches in the barbed wires Members continuously whipped and beaten by guards
New workers often selected to replace the ones who have died or committed suicide
Squads usually changed entirely with 3-5 days Conclusion Treblinka was a deathly camp with evil intentions and evil results. It was very successful in killing large amounts of people in a short amount of time. The leaders were callous and cruel. All Treblinka's victims will be dearly missed.
