Global Warming: Glaciers/Ice caps/Sea levels The retreat of glaciers since 1850 affects the availability of fresh water. By the end of the century the sea levels may rise three feet (or one foot) higher than they are today Glaciers around the world retreated as the climate warmed Here is a chart for the the sea ice thickness for 1950 and 2050 Scientists thought glaciers would respond to global warming slowly, but they now realize that the affects will be short term by 2020 By:
