My Winter Break!
Transcript of My Winter Break!
In O'ahu, Hawai'i
My Time in O'ahu
O'ahu is one of the main 8 islands in the state of Hawai'i. We spent 6 days there, and we had a BLAST!!! I bet you'll be jealous, because I did so many fun things!! We had a 6 hour flight from the Sacramento Airport to the Honolulu Airport in Hawai'i, 12 hours round-trip. It took FOREVER, but it was all worth it!
Places I went/stayed!
What I saw!!
What I ate!!
This activity was my very favorite! We saw the humuhumunukunukuapua'a fish! The humuhumunukunukuapua'a fish is a fish with a V-/Y-stripe on its body. You're never going to believe me, but I also saw a GREEN SEA TURTLE!!!!! It was HUGE!! I took multiple pictures of it with my underwater camera. It was a beautiful sight!!!!! I also saw a coral reef. Not THE Coral Reef, but just an everyday, normal coral reef! But COME ON! It's still a CORAL REEF!!! We saw these at Shark's Cove, Turtle Bay, Waikiki Beach, and Waminalo Beach, where all I got(and still have!) a wicked sunburn.
I stayed at an AWESOME 4-room condo with my 2 cousins, uncle, 3 siblings, grandma, mom, and stepdad on the beach, although I can't remember which beach... Anyway, I shopped at the International Market, which closed FOREVER in 2013, so I got to get things that were 70% OFF!! I also visited the PCC(Polynesian Cultural Center), where I learned about the Polynesian Islands,+Fiji. It was SO COOL!!! I also went to the Dole Plantation and had THE BEST pineapple smoothie/sherbert! Paige has also gone to the Plantation.
As I said earlier, I have seen the humuhumunukunukuapua'a fish, I saw a green sea turtle, and I also saw one more living animal. A MAN-O-WAR JELLYFISH WHOSE STINGS ARE VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY PAINFUL!!!!!! Good thing I saw it before I stepped on it! I also got to see the play
Ha, Breath of Life
and I got to meet one of the actors, who was a fire spinner, and yes, he really spun fire on the stage! His name is Kap, and he can put out a fire with his FOOT / ARM / ANY OTHER PART OF HIS BODY WITHOUT GETTING HURT!!! He is so cool!
