Dangerous Trends associated with "beauty"
Discrimination in Schools
Tayjha (16) and two other girls were suspended from school by her principal because her hair was "unkempt, untidy and ungroomed." Tayjha wore a puff which is a NORMAL hairstyle natural girls wear daily!
#Supportthepuff went viral and was picked up by Cosmopolitain, Teen Vogue, BuzzFeed, Popsugar,BBC,etc.
Relaxers and Weaves

Women with relaxed hair are seen as respectable, tidy, wellmannered and receive hire paying jobs in addition to other previlidges.
Relaxers can cause chemical burns, red and flaky scalp, scalp dermatitis and infection, hair loss, slower hair growth
