Transcript of small and WISE

Proverbs 30:24-25

There be four things which are
little
upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise:
The
ants
are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;

1 Corinthians 12:12-14

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.
1 Corinthians 12:8-11

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

2. Ants are very hardworking
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
Proverbs 26:13-14
The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets. As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.
Proverbs 20:4
The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.
2 Thessalonians 3:10
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
Colossians 3:23
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
1 Thessalonians 4:11
And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
Time
We are admonished to redeem the time.

But time squandered can never be recovered.

We cannot call back even one moment.

The only way in which we can redeem our time is by making the most of that which remains,

by being co-workers with God in His great plan of redemption.
{COL 342.4}
Inaction and delicate idleness is weakening the life forces of young women {and young men}.

There are those who spend hours of precious time in bed, which is not blessing them with increase of strength or relieving others from burdens, but is bringing upon them debility and confirming them in wrong habits. These hours idled away needlessly in bed can never be regained. The sin of time thus lost is marked in the book of records.

{WM 146.4}
The value of time is beyond computation. Christ regarded every moment as precious, and it is thus that we should regard it.
Life is too short to be trifled away. We have but a few days of probation in which to prepare for eternity. We have no time to waste
, no time to devote to selfish pleasure, no time for the indulgence of sin. It is now that we are to form characters for the future, immortal life. It is now that we are to prepare for the searching judgment. {COL 342.2}
Only let the moments be treasured. A few moments here and a few there, that might be frittered away in aimless talk; the morning hours so often wasted in bed;

the time spent in traveling on trams or railway cars, or waiting at the station
;
the moments of waiting for meals, waiting for those who are tardy in keeping an appointment--
if a book were kept at hand, and these fragments of time were improved in study, reading, or careful thought, what might not be accomplished.

3. Ants are great planners
Job 12:7-8
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
Proverbs 6:9-11
How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.
But Christ sanctions no lavish or careless use of means. His lesson in economy, "Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost," is for all His followers. (John 6:12.) He who realizes that his money is a talent from God will use it economically, and will feel it a duty to save that he may give. {COL 352.2}
Matthew 6:19-21
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Deuteronomy 8:18
But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
Haggai 2:8
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts
Malachi 3:8-10
Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Leviticus 27:30
And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it is holy unto the LORD.

Terrain
The increasing emission of destructive gasses,
The massive destruction of our forests,
The depletion of the protective mantel of ozone (the so-called greenhouse effect), are all threatening the earth's eco-system.
There are dire predictions of global warming,
rising sea levels, increasing frequency of storms and destructive floods,
and devastating desertification and droughts.
Seventh-day Adventism advocates a simple, wholesome lifestyle, where people do not step on the treadmill of unbridled over-consumption, accumulation or hoarding of goods, and production of waste. A reformation of lifestyle is called for, based on respect for nature, restraint in the use of the world's resources, reevaluation of one's needs, and reaffirmation of the dignity of created life.
Genesis 1:28
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply,
and replenish the earth, and subdue it
: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Revelation 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Lo, children are a heritage of Jehovah; and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth. (Psalms 127:3-4).
1 Timothy 5:8“But if any provideth
not for his own, and specially his own household, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.”
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

Matthew 28:19
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Romans 10:14-15
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts:
and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
