Victor Hugo was exiled from his country (1851-70) because he opposed against the emperor, trying to rally the workers of Paris.

What Is victor Hugo Famous For?
His Poems and dramas
He was one of the Lead supporters of the romantic movement in France
He was also a Visual artist, Statesman and Human Rights Activist.

He highlighted the injustice faced by the lower classes through his books and poems, and allowed the middle / upper classes to be aware of of the situation faced by many people in France.
Why should we remember him today?
He was a champion of democracy in France, and fought for human rights and better living conditions for the people of his time.
He has also given us amazing stories of his time
