Assistive Devises Assisstive Technology is an umbrella term that includes assisstive, adaptive, and rehabilitative devices for people with disabilities and also includes the process used in selecting, locating, and using them. AT promotes greater independence by enabling people to perform tasks that they were formerly unable to accomplish, or had great difficulty accomplishing, by providing enhancements to, or changing methods of interacting with, the technology needed to accomplish such tasks. AESOP AFFINITY 2.0 HEARING AID TESTER Aesop is a voice output keyboard interface designed for use by individuals with blindness or low vision. designed to aid users with vision disabilities in learning touch typing, the unit is connected to a PS/2 standard computer keyboard and speaks each letter as it is typed in a digitized human- quality mail voice. feature include calculation of typing speed up to 99 words per minute, adjustable volume via the keyboard, and headphone or internal speaker output The Affinity 2.0 Hearing aid acoustic test system designed for use audiologist and other hearing professionals. This unit interfaces with software modules on a laptop or desktop personal computer (PC), hearing assessment, hearing aid fitting, and patient satisfaction assessment, depending on the software modules installed. The unit has all speech, tone, and noise stimuli required for each module. Every sound accessory has its own dedicated outlet, so there is no need to unplug devices between activities. ANIMALS FROM A TO Z Animals from A to Z is a language tutorial program designed for use with children with communication or hearing disabilities. this is a learning and practice interactive software program for leaning vocabulary and concepts related to animals. games include Petting Zoo; ABC See Me;l Who Am I?; Who Lives Here?; and Animals at Home. a Cue Index sorts name by beginning,middle or final phoneme, by spelling, by dictionary pronunciation, and animated cuing with viewer-controlled variable speed. AXIO HEARING AID(MODEL IM32) The Axio Hearing Aid, is a programmable hearing aid designed for use by individual who are deaf or hard of hearing. this digital hearing aid can adjust instantly to different listening environments without feedback while filtering out background noise. it automatically adjust telephone, music, or television listening. it has a voice status indicators or for low battery and listening mode in male or female voices in a variety of languages, and can be programmed with audible voice or tone reminder for follow-up appointments and maintenance checks. B.A BAR B.A BAR is a voice output bar code communication aid, cognitive aid, and speech teaching device designed for use by individuals with autism, aphasia, cognitive disabilities, or brain injury. this portable unit has a digital voice and can record and play back words and sounds programmed on barcodes. adhesive barcode labels are glued onto objects or symbol panels; scanning enables voice output. the codes are also available in a graphic file, enbabling them to be printed on documents. BIGTRACK TRACKBALL AND SWITCH ADAPTED BIGTRACK TRACKBALL The BIGtrack Trackball is a trackball designed for use by the individual with fine motor, upper extremity, or severe physical disabilities. this trackball has an oversized trackball with left and right mouse click buttons located behind the trackball to avoid unwanted mouse clicks. The BIGtrack also allows for second mouse connection, enabling both the Bigtrack and a second mouse to be connected for assisted bor simultaneous participation. HITCH COMPUTER SWITCH INTERFACE The Hitch Computer Swich Interface is a switch adapter for for computers designed for use by individuals with severe physical or upper extremity disabilities or spinal cord injury. This plug-and-play switch requires no software setup, making it immediately ready to deliver five sets of functions to as many as five switches at a time. Rows of function are chosen with a single switch accesss or two switch scanning. PORTABLE COMMUNICATOR FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED The Portable Communicator for the visually impaired is a direct selection or scanning communicator designed for use by individuals with communication and visual disabilities. this devise offers 12 levels with total of 600 seconds of recording time and can accessed using two to eight large selection fields. BLUEMOUSE The BlueMouse is a mouse with built-in-wrist support designed for use by individuals with neurological or upper extremity disabilities, Parkinson's disease, or paraplegia. The mouse has a palm-shaped depression with spaces for the fingers, enabling a secure grip. A built -in magnet holds the mouse securely on the mouse pad. CHATPC-4 ChatPC-4 is a direct selection communicator designed for use by individuals with communication or speech disabilities or cerebral palsy. The unit has a color touch screen dynamic display that allows hundreds of communication pages to be linked together to meet the users communication needs for home, school,work and other situation.
