The children are promised everything they have hoped and dreamed for, but what they don't know is that their mother has been disowned by her father and they are not allowed to be seen or heard until she earns back his trust and is reentered into his will. The children go through many struggles but finally escape Foxworth Hall. They discover all the lies they have been told and leave in search of a new life.
