Description:
The Warner Global Development recognized the need to introduce a premium residential property into their real estate portfolio.

Warner Gardens WonderWall Loft was an extraordinary experiment. Beginning with a raw, unfinished building structure and utilizing a non-standard approach to interior design, the goal of this project was to create a unique interior space that reflects luxury through an organic, artistic approach rather than a traditional approach to interior design. Think of WonderWall Loft as a livable “Art-Space.”

Whether he's producing music or creating art,
Mø pushes the envelope and creates a union of aesthetics and performance.
I haven't seen anything like these before – what was your inspiration for them?
Mø was his creative self as usual, fresh from blessing the Sole Bar with a masterful dual color-toned graphic portrait of Michael Jordan that overlooks the laser machine in watchful and true god-like fashion.
Judging by your AF1's you seem fascinated by the duality of the left and right sides of the brain.
Mø has many ideas for extending his Traveling Salesman Problem-like work into other media.
This intricate mix of machine-like precision and passionate language is pure Mø, the Portland artist who's one-of-a-kind art is earning him global exposure.
Innovation on innovation, signed by the artist, and as much a work of art as it is performance athletic footwear...
American artist. . . famous for bold and futuristic, modern design.
A story is like a line - it begins, then follows a path before concluding. And like any sentence taken from that story can be meaningful, it serves a voice greater than its own. Such is any segment taken from this line - beautiful unto itself, yet only a fraction of the bigger picture.

The universe has a story and that story physically connects all matter and energy, living and inanimate, you and I. This line is my art and my art is the story of one man’s Truth.
The Deeper Dive
Connecting concept to product & process through storytelling. . .

Creating smart systems that engage an audience on multiple levels, enabling a deeper, multisensory activation of the brand experience.
SYSTEMATIC ENGAGEMENT

Crafting cross-media narratives that communicate inventive concepts for both product & process.
CONCEPT STORYTELLING
I produced this video of a second generation NIKEiD concept. The purpose of the 2 minute video was to communicate key design elements downstream in the development of the NIKEiD service product. Demonstrated in this story are:
overall concept
user interface ideation
user experience ideation
possible feature sets
PROJECT: Eight Bit
CLIENT: Mark Smith, Nike Innovation Kitchen
ROLE: Producer
DELIVERABLE: Simulated game-play video
Produced video assets for a visionary physical-gaming collaboration between Nike Digital Sport and Sony Games. Through a simulated game-play experience, my role was to communicate User Experience [UX], User Interface [UI], story, character, environment, action, features, and overall look and feel. Contributions: story development, motion graphic design, and editing.

These concept assets were created 10 years ago and remain in development. A typical example of why the NDA for my work furthering Nike's innovation initiatives is open-ended, not the usual 2-3 year term length.
PROJECT: Slider Stories
CLIENT: Natalie Candrian, Nike Explore R+D Group
ROLE: Concept Design UX; Producer
DELIVERABLE: Concept inspiration video
This seminal collection of videos was crucial in communicating not only the concept of unique product customization, but also used as a tool for refining design direction within a user interface. This project spawned a second generation of concept videos that focused more on the user experience in addition to a new form of Nike iD interaction.
These concepts remain in active development. For this reason the content has been heavily redacted.

PROJECT: Performance Considered Communicated
CLIENT: Tinker Hatfield, Nike IK
ROLE: Project Design Director
DELIVERABLE: Graphic communication sytem for Nike's Performance Considerded
Nike came to me searching for a holistic approach to communicating the environmental consideration behind their performance products. Formally presented to senior innovation designers and directors, this styleguide includes first-hand observational research; cross-modal analysis; information system design; graphic communication and other concepts tied to specific b2b and b2c strategies.
This Air Force 1 Mid is by far the most deeply rooted story telling system the AF-1 franchise has to offer. Along side the highly intricate pattern, this design holds over 50 imbedded, interconnected stories that engage the consumer with a new discovery upon every visit. The release event was a significant cultural happening covered by two news channels making this AF-1 Mid the most celebrated in the history of the brand. This concept was subsequently adopted by Jordan, Nike's elite performance brand.

DELIVERABLE: Concept inspiration video series
2020 is a highly conceptual project exploring the future of Nike itself. One small facet is this point-of-sale automation tool demonstrating new techniques of user interface technology coupled with on-demand production. This video has been instrumental in setting the tone for Nike's retail vision for the future by developing an intuitive, graphic, and unique POS experience. Contribution: concept story-telling and rich media development.

CLIENT: Confidential

DELIVERABLE: video designed to communicate an alternative energy concept for a VC presentation in 24 hours.
Friday morning I received a call from a colleague who needed a video created for his client that would effectively communicate the concept behind a new alternative energy system. The video was to be presented in person in Los Angeles 3 O'clock the next day.

My solution was to write a narrative voice-over that would explain the concept aurally and connect a handful of pre-produced assets including video, 3D animation, and digital animation.

CLIENT: Keith Gerr, Director of Brand Marketing, InFocus, Corp.
ROLE: Creative Director
DELIVERABLE: Re-branding / Identity design for InFocus projector brand
InFocus hired me to concept an aggressive, male-centric brand code for the teen demographic. Development included the name, story, and conceptual underpinnings of the brand; as well as, the visual aesthetic, sound design, UI, and operation of the product. This was a multi-sensory product that required smart messaging assets, novel marketing recommendations, and cross-product tie-ins with apparel, equipment and accessories.

PROJECT: WonderWall Loft
CLIENT: Jason Chen, CEO Warner Global Development, Tianjin China
ROLE: Design Director
DELIVERABLE: Styleguide & on-site design/build leadership
In an effort to create new market opportunities in the exponentially growing Chinese middle class, the visionary CEO of the Warner Group turned to me to concept a new type of asset in their premium residential portfolio. My solution was the livable art-space called "WonderWall Loft," a $1.2 million high-roller condo fit for entertaining the most sophisticated guests.

As I wrote in the design brief, "An extraordinary idea requires an extraordinary approach." Living my own words, I was challenged to over-come a cornucopia of spacial, material, process, cultural, and physical design challenges. Though my office was 10,000 Km from the site, I successfully lead the transformation of three 1,100 sqft apartments into a single, split-level, 3,300 sqft Master Residence.

PROJECT: Air Jordan XX Low
CLIENT: Mark Smith, Nike Innovation Kitchen
ROLE: Concept Artist
DELIVERABLE: Jordan portrait and graphic storytelling
Leveraging consumer interest in my Labyrinth laser art adorning the Air Force 1 Laser Mø, Nike's Jordan group asked me to develop a Labyrinth story for this Air Jordan XX. Besides a portrait, the artwork incorporates MJ's belief in the interconnectedness of all things [in his words: "Alpha to Omega"], as well as a reference to the iconic basketball phrase, "Nothing but net."
Systematic engagement at the most basic level.
