World History Module 6 Lesson 2
designed by Péter Puklus for Prezi
Claim: While the Industrial Revolution had both positive and negative effects on society and the economy, the positive effects outweighed the negative.”
Factory Systems were adopted in England for the first time during the Industrial Revolution. They were invented with the idea of making things more quickly with the use of machines. Manufacturing was suppose to be easier, faster, and give many people a chance to get employed. Producing products on a large scale, decreases labor work, and produces cheaper product was the main goal here.
Factory systems strengthened British economies and cities grew rapidly. Reason being is because of the creation of the factory systems. It provided jobs to people who felt that they were skilled to operate heavy machinery. It made products at a larger quantity, at a faster speed, and increased the money for a better economy.
There was an increase amount of pollution in the atmosphere and water. There was garbage all over the streets due to factory system growing so rapidly. People were upset because they worked long hours. Workers were not paid a very large amount of money; in fact it was very small. Due to the low income, a whole family worked just to pay bills(including children). Due to the poor ecosystem, there was a lot of deadly diseases going around. This lead to more death.
As you can see, there are more positives then there are negatives. With the help of The Industrial Revolution, America has become what it is today. But, there are some down sides, as there is in every situation. Because of the Industrial Revolution, people got sick and some even died due to the pollution in the air and water from the factories.
