The American Revolution was the Colonies' protest against the British Empire's tyrannic rule.

The American Revolution
lasted from April 19, 1776 to September 3, 1783
Why:
The American Colonists wanted freedom from Britain. They didn't want a war, but it was the only way to gain independence.
How:
They fought with cannons and weapons like pistols.

Also, the war was started with the Boston Massacre when Crispus Attucks died.
