1.Games in Sochi - the first Winter Olympics, which took place in a subtropical climate.
2.Olympic Torch Relay this year was the longest in the history of the Games - 65,000 kilometers in 123 days, since starting in Athens September 29, 2013.
Vic Ivan Wilde - Russian snowboarder of American origin. Honored Master of Sports of Russia.
Before season 2010/11 he played for the United States. Vic Wilde decided to get a second citizenship after the marriage with the Russian snowboarder Alena Zavarzina
On December 21, 2012, in the season 2012/2013, he made his debut at the World Cup for the Russian team. In the first race of the season, parallel giant slalom he showed the best result in his career, taking 3rd place, beating the Italian Roland Fishnallera.
Adeline D. Sotnikova (July 1, 1996, Moscow) - Russian figure skater .
She started skating at the age of 4 at the rink "Southern" in Moscow. When she was seven years old, she moved to CSKA. In 2004 she started to work with a girl coach Elena Buyanova.
In 2008 Adeline won the championship of Russia.
At the 2014 Olympics in Sochi Adeline did not participate in the team tournament, but in the short program of the main tournament she became the second, behind Kim Yu-na of 0.28 points, and in the long program became the first and won the Olympics. Total score - 224.59.

Olga G. Vilukhina (March 22, 1988, Mezhgorye Bashkir ASSR) - Russian biathlon.Her father Gennady Vilukhin is an engineer, her mother Olga is an operator in a boiler-room, her sister Zlata is also an engineer. She finished school number 3 with good marks.
Since 1998, she started to go cross country skiiing , and in June 2004, her coach advised her to go to biathlon and she followed the advice.
