#### Transcript of Math: Order of Operations

Order of Operations Why can't we always just go from left to right? Why do we need order of
operations? 2+6/2=4 2+6/2=5 Which answer is right? If we didn't have the order of operations we could never
come up with just one answer. PEMADS could be a way for you to remember the order.
Parenthesis
Exponets
Mutiplication
Division
Subtraction As you know some operation are inverse of eachother
therefore you can just do your operations left to right. 2+6-6
Step 1- 2+6 or 6-6
Step 2- 8-6 or 2+0
Answer- 2 or 2 Same happens with multiplcation and division. Practice Problems:
(don't forget to use order of operation)
2+5-7
2+8-9
2*9/3
3/4*5
3-5*6
4+6*9
4+2/2 Parenthesis you must do first and then exponets.
(4+6)/5
Step 1- (4+6)
Step 2- 10/5

(2+6)-5
(2+8)/10
(2+6-7)*(6+5)
2^2+(2+5+9)-9/8 Now you should be able to due any problem with order of operations!!!
4^2+5
Step 1- 4^2
Step 2-16+5
