A physician or medical doctor who specializes in the skin, the diseases of the skin and the relationship of skin lesions to the overall disease.
Why I picked this career
I picked this career because it interested me.
History
The earliest Dermatology was associated with urology, and in the 1900's was involved with treatment of syphilis and venereal diseases.
In the late 1800's dermatologist began using a variety of chemicals to smooth wrinkled skin and scarring.
Patients
Patients of all ages can come into the Dermatologist for:
suspicious moles
acne
rashes
sores
lesions
dark spots
burns
scars
skin cancer
bacterial/fungus infections of the skin
STD
Expected Duties
Provide Consultations
Perform Dermatological Screenings
Performing Dermatological Tests
Performing Dermatological Procedures
My friends Mom is a Dermatologist but i have no family member that has this career.

Dermatologists who work in Hawaii and California tend to have a higher income
Places to find work:
In Bismarck, ND the average salary for a Dermatologist is $271,628
Dermatologist usually work in an office setting with a co-owned business
Hospitals normally don't hire Dermatologist because they don't bring in as much money as a regular family physician
The good thing is that Dermatologist are in high demand in most communities
Working with others
Dermatologist can pretty much work with every type of doctor considering skin conditions can be a result of a disease process or side affects of medication.
Pediatrition: may notice a child has developed a rash and they don't know exactly what its caused by they might refer them to a Dermatologist.
Family Physician: notices that patient of 15 years of age is having severe acne problems so he refers him to a Dermatologist
They do work with Dermatologist assistants quite often in their scope of practice.
Future Outlook
Job Growth for physicians is about 24% from 2010-2020 and the demand for Dermatologist is very high due to the increase in skin cancer.
Colleges
U of M- the tuition is about $13,620 for 1 semester and a perk of this school is that they offer free credits after the 13th credit of that semester. You have to pay 11 semesters of tuition for a M.D.
Harvard School of Medicicine- $53,500
UND- tuition is $13,815 per year for an M.D.

Dermatologist diagnose different skin diseases
the physician-patient relationship has a contractual basis and is based on honesty trust and confidentiality.
The dermatology profession exist for the primary purpose of caring for the patient
