THE STAGES OF RELIGIOUS FAITH
1. Childhood Faith

3. Mature Faith
Children tend to accept without question what they are told by their parents.
Children are encouraged to have a relationship with God
"If God really loves us, why do bad things happen to good people?
They may be stronger in their faith or reject any form of religious faith
They may become APATHETIC (indifferent) to the whole issue of religious faith.
Accepting that there are no easy answers to be had to life's most important questions.
Working out a clear idea of what you believe and why.
Trying to live the best kind of life you can.

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF RELIGION?
1. Religion has been, and continues to be, one of the most influential factors in human history.
FORMAL AND INFORMAL MINISTRIES IN CHRISTIANITY
(A) FORMAL MINISTRY
An ORDAINED MINISTRY: bishop/priest celebrating the sacraments.
An INSTITUTIONAL MINISTRY: a member of the laity, who serves as a Minister of the Eucharist or a Minister of the Word.

(B) INFORMAL MINISTRY
Daily situations where a Christian tries to put their beliefs into practice:
Supporting a classmate in a time of need.
Helping an elderly neighbour or relative.
2. Although Religion can divide people, it has brought many people together. Community is essential for a happy life.


3. It helps provide hope, encouragement and inspiration.
