Civil Rights Contribution
Jackie Robinson wrote in support of and spoke up for the right of blacks. His support of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X drew came with some criticism ,but he stood up for what he believed in.
Hall of Fame
By the time he was inducted into the Hall of Fame he was nominated to six consecutive All-Star teams,and been a member of six World Series teams.

He was given a number of recognition,during his life and after his death.Several books and major motion picture chronicle his life and times.

Jackie Robinson
as a baby.
He broke the so-called baseball color line in 1947 when he signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers.He was the Rookie of the Year and was the first player to take this honor.Two years later he was the league's MVP.By the time he was inducted into the Hall of Fame he was nominated to 6 consecutive All-Star teams,and been a member of 6 World Series teams.
