Industry Education Agriculture Then Then Then Now Now Now 1.The first railroad in Ohio was
the Erie and Kalamazoo Railroad. 2.Most of the first railroads olny
existed only within the state of Ohio 3.Railroads dominated Ohio's transportation
until after WWII. 1.with many technological
improvements,railroading today
can operate much faster. 2.Railroading today is seeing a renaissance
of freight traffic not experienced since WW|| 3.Today,the newest locomotives are becoming
increasingly more environmentally friendly. 1.In many shcools, one teacher would
be in charge of instructing many grade
levels at the same time. 2.Students used to get him with paddies
or rulers if they did something wrong. 3.Many poor kids did not have a chance
to attend school as they had to work
full time to help support treir families. 1.Teachers are assigned to teach only one
grade level. 2.Students are disciplined in many ways,however,
hitting a student is no longer a form of punishment. 3.Today,all kids are required. 1.Prior to the 1800s, most people who called Ohio
home earned their living through farming. 2.They used horses for plowing the feilds. 1.Men plow the fields. 2.The farmers milk the cows
and take the milk to the market.
