Piranhas live at the rainforest floor. They live in humid rain forests or in places with enough water to live in. It adapts to the rainforest by their scales.
Piranhas are nocturnal but mostly active at day. It's special skills are to swim faster than an electric eel and it can also be 2 or 3 minutes out of the water.
Piranha's camouflage with rock's and dirt. It doesmimicry other fish or animals but the X-ray fish mimics the piranha.
Piranhas are carnivores. They eat fish and mollusks. They also eat a lot of crustaceans, many insects, birds, lizards and amphibians. They eat many rodents and carrion. Its predators are river dolphins, crocodiles and some birds.
Piranhas are 1/2 to 2 feet (15-16) 20 in'' to 30 in''. Piranhas have dark eyes, razor sharp teeth, red chin and belly, pectoral fin, silver ventral fin, red anal fin, silver dorsal fin and small silvery-green scales. It's surface covering are scales. It is different from other animals by how it eats. All animals use their teeth to eat but piranha's don't they find the food and gulp it up without using their teeth. Piranha's can lay or have in their tummy 5,000 eggs!
Piranhas are awesome and interesting animals because they can also live in ocean. They can stay out of water 2 or 3 minutes. Also can lay or have in their tummy's 5,000 eggs.
