Government Tools (Regulations) Old School Examples (Pre-2000)
The Government regulates the economy
through rules of what businesses can and
cannot do. Prohibition (1920-1933) - The government said no alcohol allowed ever by penalty of law. This resulted in the shutdown of all breweries and a decreased supply of alcohol to all of the possible consumers. So, demand rose and so did the price. Speakeasies sold alcohol to desperate consumers at an increased price because of the reduced supply.
Modern Example (Post-2000) EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) - The EPA regulates the acceptable amount of pollution by businesses. If businesses need to dispose of their toxic by-products, they must do so properly. The business of proper waste removal then boomed and the supply of businesses that can take away toxic waste increased with it. This is a T-Rex Btw, here are the websites I used. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prohibition
