Letter Expert: We spend 26 days
focusing on introducing letters and
sounds. Our goal is to master all by
the end of 1st quarter.

BALANCED LITERACY: Guided Reading, Independent Reading, Read-aloud, Shared Reading, Partner Reading, Writing
Number Sense: Calendar skills; counting;
read, write and represent numbers to 31; compare numbers; basic addition and subtraction

Algebra: Recognize, create, complete and extend patterns

Geometry and Measurement: Recognize basic two- and three-dimensional shapes; compare sizes of objects

These Essential Learnings are taught through large group, math stations and individual meetings

Focus on correct letter formation, spacing, proper use of upper/lower case letters, learning to write on lines

Letter/Word/Sentence Dictation:
Guided writing of letters, sounds and spelling patterns, and sentences
