Benjamin Franklin's writings, sayings and inventions are part of our daily life and help us live our life better. He was a man with many talents. Franklin touches our lives everyday with his genius.
Contributions to society
Wrote Poor Richard's Almanac, published from 1732-1758.
Helped organize the first hospital, fire department, post office, police station.
Created fire insurance.
Started the first library in America.
Died 1790 and 20,000 people attended his funeral.
He was so recognized for his achievements, that he was printed on our $100 bill.
Franklin's philosophy and guidance as a Founding Father, helped form our country.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure
Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead
Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.

Born January 17th, 1706, in Boston Massachusetts.
One of 17 children.
Franklin was a very clever boy & attended Boston Latin School, but only until 10 years old.
Apprenticed under his father and brother but neither candle making nor printing fired his imagination.
Formed a Junto group for young men, to discuss morals, politics, or natural philosophy.
One of the Founding Fathers of our country and an author of the Constitution.
Founded several colleges such as: The University of Pennsylvania
Won numerous awards for his work with electricity.
Many of the sayings from back then are still popular today
