Famous Astronomer: Edwin Hubble
Teacher: Mrs. T-H Edwin Powell Hubble was born to John Powell Hubble and Virginia Lee James in Marshfield, Missouri. He moved to Wheaton, Illinois when he was 11 years old. Edwin Hubble was known more for his athletic abilities than his intelligence in high school. He won in first place seven times at his local track & field team at his high school. What country was Edwin born in?
Edwin was born in the United States of America. Where did Edwin go to school?
Wheaton High School in Wheaton, Illinois. When he graduated, he then went to the University of Chicago and the University of Oxford. Where did Edwin do their work? Edwin worked at Mount Wilson Observatory in Los Angeles
County in California. He worked there until 1942, when he wanted
to fight in World War 2.
What is Edwin famous for? Edwin discovered that there are more galaxies than our own galaxy.
