Dr. Thomas Lickona – Dr. Lickona has been very helpful in my development as a teacher of character. He has authored many books, completed many studies, and has some great resources available. Here is a link to his website: www.cortland.edu/character
If you are interested in The Smart & Good High Schools report, it can be accessed there. There are also lots of free materials available to (including their Excellence & Ethics letters on their Smart & Good Schools Initiative).
Dr. Matthew Davidson – Dr. Davidson is the one of the pioneers of the performance character module in character education. He is the founder and president of the IEE (Institute of Excellence and Ethics). Here is a link to his website: http://excellenceandethics.com/index.php Before founding IEE, Dr. Davidson was Research Director at the Center for the 4th and 5th Rs (SUNY Cortland). A frequent national presenter, Dr. Davidson is a past member of the Blue Ribbon Panel for the National Schools of Character Awards Program. He has been very helpful in my development of a teacher of character.
Hal Urban - Hal is responsible for getting me interested in Character Education. If you have the chance to read any of his books, I highly suggest it. His book, Life’s Greatest Lessons, is the book that first inspired me. Feel free to visit his website: www.halurban.com Hal is great about helping educators and if you e-mail him, he will respond.
Lucy Frontera – Lucy is a very knowledgeable person and offers great insight towards character education. I highly suggest contacting her with any questions, thoughts, or ideas. She is a great in-state advocate to have working by your side. Our school has really benefitted from our professional relationship with her and her colleagues in the Ohio Partners in Character Education. frontera@pipeline.com www.charactereducationohio.org

Never throughout history has a man

Dictionary is the only place that success
comes before work. Hard work is the price
we must pay for success. I think you can
accomplish anything if you are willing to
pay the price.

you are helping him up.
