Background Information of Ben Carson:
Ben Carson's inspiring story was written for a reason, and that reason was to inspire others. The life story of Ben Carson inspired others of how we can also have a success story. As how he became a neurosurgeon, as how we can become a person in life, no matter what background.
Ben Carson is a columnist and retired neurosurgeon. He is known for being the first surgeon to successfully separate twins conjoined at the head.
He was born on September 18, 1951, in Michigan, Detroit. His wife is Candy Carson and his mother is Sonya Carson.
When he was eight years old, his father left him. He lived as a poor child with no father. He became successful in life because of his mother.
Ben Carson - Transforms throughout the story from a child with low grades, and poor neighborhood, to a man that saves lives with the blessing of money.
Sonya Carson - Transforms after her husband left, she started pushing and helping her son to do the best.
The Ben Carson Story
What inspired Ben Carson to write Gifted Hands?
If you persevere in life, and block the negative, you can become anyone in life.
Life comes with hard times, and so you will need someone by your side to pull you up, in Ben Carson's case, his mother.
Life is not about material, but what you make of it. "It's not your fault if you are born poor, but it is your fault if you die poor."
- Bill Gates
Characters and Transformation
Craig and Suan - Transforms Ben Carson in to doing the surgery on the brain that has a tumor.
Candy Carson - Transforms from a woman at Yale, to a lady that is fortunate to have Ben Carson as her husband.
From a 1 to 10, I rate this book at a 10 because it shows the transformation of the characters, a strong theme, and how the characters overcame struggles. This can relate to many lives, and one of them is me.
