Modifiers
If a phrase or clause acting as an adjective or adverb is not placed near the word it modifies, the meaning of the sentence may be unclear.
A modifier should be placed as close as possible to the word it modifies.
Ex: At the lake, we rented a boat with an outboard motor.
Percy Jackson is the the main character. His father is Poseidon, god of the Ocean. Percy finds himself being accused of stealing Zeus's Lighning Bolt. However, when he is sent to Camp Half Blood to get safe and learn to train battle, Hades decides to take a visit and threatens Percy to give him thre bolt and he will return his mother. (Hades captured Percy's mother).
Grover is Percy's Best Friend and "Protector." Grover is a male Cyclops. That means that he has a pair of goat legs for legs. In the movie, in public, he is always pictured with a crutch so he can walk and not make it noticeable that he is a cyclops. Grover tags along with Percy on an adventure that leads down to Hades to save Percy's mother. Unfortunately, they collected only 3 "tickets" and they have 4 passengers. Grover stays behind because he is the Protector.
Annabeth is also, like Percy, a demigod. Her mother is Athena, goddess of wisdom. Annabeth has trained her whole life and hasn't gone on one adventure or anything, so Percy and Grover allow her to tag along on their adventure. When they discover that a "ticket to Hades" in located in Medusa's lair, Medusa tried to turn everyone to stone, but espically Annabeth because her mother (Athena) cursed Medusa and turned to hair into snakes.
Luke is also a demigod. His father is Hermes. Hermes is the messenger. He is the only one known to go to Hades and come back.. alive. So, this means that Luke has a whole bunch of instruments of transportation and knows how to get to Hades.. and back. Luke gives Percy and the crew some weapons and transportation devices and little did they know that Luke sneaked the Lightning Bolt in with them..
Percy's Mother's name is unknown in the movie. However, she has a big role. While she is rushing Percy and Grover to Camp Half Blood, she is taken away by the Minotaur and is sent down to Hades. Percy, Grover, and Annabeth take a one in a lifetime adventure down to save her. She made unforgettable sacrifices for Percy throughout the movie.
Gabe is a drug addict in the movie. His girlfriend is Percy's mother. Percy and his mother do not like Gabe at all. The only reason that Percy's mother stays with him is to protect Percy. Throughout the movie, Gabe makes up lies about Percy and his mother missing.
Athena is the goddess of wisdom and battle strategies. Her daughter is Annabeth and that is how she knows so many moves and techniques in battle. Athena is represented by a owl showing wisdom. Athena cursed Medusa and turned her head into a head of snakes and Medusa dislikes her strongly of it.
Poseidon is the god of the ocean. He is brothers with Zeus and Hades. His son is Percy. This means that Percy can hold his breath for a long time and do other things with water. Poseidon left Percy at a very young age and Percy is deeply disturbed by this.
Hades is the god of the underworld. All the lost and dead souls go to Hades. Hades is the brother of Zeus and Poseidon. Hades captured Percy's mom.
Zeus is the god of gods. His Lightning Bolt was stolen. Zeus is the brother of Hades and Poseidon. Zeus and all the other gods and goddess live on Mt. Olympus.
Persephone is the bride of Hades and lives in the underworld.. for half of the year. According to the Greeks, if it wasn't for Persephone, their wouldn't be any seasons, nut that's another story. When Hades takes a hold of the Lightning Bolt, Persephone takes it away from him and gives it back to Percy and his crew.
