Transcript of Adultery

Finally What is Adultery? Adultery Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not his or her spouse. Significance of Adultery in the Bible: The seventh of the Ten Commandments is "Thou shalt not commit adultery" (Exodus 20:14)

In Matthew 5:27-28 it states that everyone who looks on a woman to lust for her has committed adultery with her in his heart. Geography: In the United States, punishment for adultery can be different for each state, from life imprisonment (Michigan) to a small fine (Maryland). But some countries such as Iran or Pakistan call for severe punishment for adultery. Back In Time: In the Old Testament of the Bible, the punishment for adultery was stoning. In most countries today, the legal punishment is milder. Effects: 1. The adulterer often experiences high levels of anxiety and depression once this has happened. It affects the mind a psychological way. It is an act and violation of the marriage vows. The person who engages in a sexual act of any kind outside the marriage is known to be an "adulterer'. Effects: 2. One may start to experience difficulties in relationships, work, school, and many other areas. Effects: 3. Many who have pursed an adulterous relationship have often found themselves suffering financial loss as a result of the relationship that is being pursued. Effects: 4. There is a possibility for termination of employment if the act was brought to the attention of the employer. Professionals who are expected to achieve the highest level of integrity, it is believed to be a break down of character if this act is committed Effects 5. When this act is committed, and other people find out, a lack of respect and tolerance may be experienced and it can be devastating. Effects: 6. If the married couple have children, and they find out, it complicates the child's future and creates life long scars and it cheats the children of their sense of security. Effects: There are many devastating effects that may occur and it is very difficult to handle adultery if you are the one that was cheated. You can get counseling, talk to somebody close to you and keep your mind busy.
If you are the person who committed adultery, you have to know the consequences of your actions. Children who grow up with a parent who had an adulterous relationship are less likely to be able to maintain adult relationships. They are also likely to have higher divorce rates than the rest of the population, are more likely to become teen parents, have difficulty at school and have behavioral and psychological problems
