Product Project Proposal
Transcript of Product Project Proposal
Ben & Jerry’s will launch its first Fair Trade/Fairtrade flavor to be sold globally in 2009 and we currently plan to add new Fair Trade flavors in 2010 and beyond.
Ben & Jerry had a vision. The vision was to create the best tasting icecream in the best possible way. This product was designed for people of all ages! From kids to adults, and
from adults to senior citizens. All target markets are being shot at. Ben & Jerry's
is providing quality ice cream and other frozen goodies to everyone. With
such a large target market, they really can't loose.
Ben & Jerry’s adopted a three-part mission statement:
Product Mission: to make, distribute and sell the finest quality all-natural
ice cream and related products in a wide variety of innovative flavors
made from Vermont dairy products.
Social Mission: to operate the company in a way that actively recognizes
the central role that business plays in the structure of society by initiating
innovative ways to improve the quality of life of a broad community:
local, national, and international.
Economic Mission: to operate the company on a sound financial basis of
profitable growth, increasing value to our shareholders and creating
career opportunities and financial rewards for our employees. For over $3 a pint you'd better make the right choice.
In 1977 lifelong friends Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield completed a correspondence course on ice cream making from the Pennsylvania State University. On May 5, 1978, with a $12,000 investment the pair opened an ice cream parlor in a renovated gas station in downtown Burlington, Vermont. In 1979, they marked their anniversary by holding the first-ever free cone day, now a nationwide annual celebration.
Consumers can find their Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream at most Convinient Store such as Target, Wal-Mart, Smiths, Ect. To get the best experience and to test the flavors consumers can go to Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Scoop Shops.
Ben & Jerrys Ice Cream also makes recipe books that can be found at most book stores and all over the internet. The key is to get past the price tag shock and dip your spoon in that delicious pint of sinful joy. There are two leading brands when it comes to premium ice cream, Ben & Jerry’s and Häagen-Dazs. But is either one better than the other?
Ben & Jerry's make a huge gain by promoting with style. They use creative names and designs for their ice cream and ice cream cups. They also have a yearly shin-dig where on Ben & Jerry's birthday they give out free cones. And once you've sampled one you can't help but buy more!
Ben & Jerry's also promotes using mascots such as cows, t-shirts, baby onesies, and by comtributing to the community.
Companys stick out more and show that they care but putting themselves out there into the communty and supporting. People look at that and see that they are willing to help and be there for people.
Catering is another huge way of promotion. Catering a party or a company get-together can help spread the word of a new flavor or a new product that they are realeasing. Indirect Competition *Baskin Robins
