civil war slavery federalism ecomnomy constitution the us constitution to 1787 and 1791 the us constitution allowed slaves to be rounted the slave trade comtuen until at least 1808 slavery stop around that time because us cannt make amend to ban slavery until 1808. arbraham lincoln abraham lincoln lived february 12, 1809 to april 15, 1865 he was the 16 president of the united states abraham lincoln led the the north through the greatest crisis the civil war. slaves were taken from there homes and put into plantations they worked for no pay for there rest of there lives
