The effect of violent video games on teenagers
A common problem that is presented in the teenage age group is the lack of motivation to get up and become active in their own lifestyle and the amount of violence that they have become desensitized to up until their teens. This issue is important for people to have awareness of because of how drastically it is effecting not only the next generation and how they react to violence but how it is slowly turning our community into one that is forced to take away are rights just to protect us from the ever growing threat of increased violence.
Effects
Exposure to violence at a young age will ultimately lead to violent behavior later in life.
the Graphics of some games and distort people's sense of reality.
as video games become more and more popular for young kids, than the behavior will be continued in the future and teens will end up spending most of their time playing games.
with focus on completing a game, teens forget to focus on school and getting the normal amount of exercise for the day.
leads to more snacking; mostly of unhealthy food
weight gain due to lack of a poor diet and exercise.

“Playing video games could be compared to smoking cigarettes. A single cigarette won’t cause lung cancer, but smoking over weeks or months or years greatly increases the risk. In the same way, repeated exposure to violent video games may have a cumulative effect on aggression.”

new studies have found that teenagers who play violent video games may demonstrate lingering effects on the function of the brain, including an incline in activity in the region of the brain that is in control of the emotional arousal and causes a decline in the activity in the brain's main function, which is associated with focus and concentration.
how teens can be helped
although many teenagers don't realize the how video games can effect the mind and development of a teenagers mind, there are help centers that can enlighten kids. (pictures to the right)
Therefore the teenage age group has a lack of motivation to get up and become active in their own lifestyle and the amount of violence that they have become desensitized to up until their teens.
