The President, CEO, and Partial Owner Behind The Company That Owns The World Indra Nooyi
http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/0,28757,1733748,00.html #ixzz1GEkMAPyQ "The most appropriate way to describe Indra Nooyi, chairman and CEO of PepsiCo, is world class leader." -Time Magazine "She is responsible for starting of http://bybusiness.net/indra-nooyi-woman-business-no-1-in-america.html#more-510 finance, strategy, business processes, enterprise innovation platform." and This quote from the Times Magazine represents Indra Nooyi as she is indeed a world class leader, for she runs, in the truest sense, a multi-billion company, that owns the majority of the food and beverage companies of the world (Quaker, Tropicana, Aunt Jemima, etc...), and in order to do this, she needs perseverance, commitment, and conviction. With these qualities that easily inhabit her character, she leads her company, a world revolutionizing enterprise, through all obstacles and celebrationary moments alike. Indra Nooyi was so successful in her career for a number of reasons 1 She set goals for herself. 2 She knows how to reach her goals 3 She is very determined 4 She has a good vision for the company (PepsiCo) 5 She knows how to manage people. In her career, she had many successes, with each being extremely great, and undeniably helpful towards her endeavors, essentially career wise. Her first success was immigrating to the United States of America from India, the country of her birth. The second main success of her life was when she graduated from Yale University Graduate School with a Master's Degree in Public and Private Management with flying colours. "She is a terrific addition to our world class board and her perspective will be invaluable" - Roger Enrico CEO of FritoLay The next success of hers was when she landed a job working with Roger Enrico, the CEO of FritoLay, a company owned by PepsiCo. The next success in her career was the promotion to Chief Financial Officer of PepsiCo in February 2000. The advancement that came next was no surprise for one of her apptitude and ability. She was promoted to President of the company 1 year after becoming CFO. When Indra was promoted to President of PepsiCo, she was also elected to the Board of Directors. The next, and most likely her greatest, prosperous event in the career life of Nooyi was when she was made CEO of Pepsi Corporation in October 2006 The initial Struggles of Indra Nooyi were slightly differed than those of the average entrepreneur as she was an immigrant from INDIA, and not an American born entrepreneur, however the global community quickly realized her passion for the enterprise, and her aptitude, along with her ability in the field. The Struggles in The Professional Life of Indra Nooyi, President, CEO, and Partial Owner of PepsiCo Defeating the discrimination (racial) that was present after she recently moved from INDIA to the USA Balancing the responsibilties between work and family. In the year 2006, Pepsi products were banned from governmental and educational institutions in many states. In 2008, Pepsi was facing a number of difficulties which were becoming a major area of concern Spiraling fuel and energy prices rising costs of raw materials and other commodities increased packaging costs There were many risks taken by Pepsi Co in the duration while Indra was CEO, most successful, while some were not so prosperous. When Pepsi and Coca Cola were forced to change their target population from their original, they had to chose which market they would target, and the process in which they would do it. Pepsi chose to use the barter system when this challenge was imposed upon them, however, when implemented, it proved to fail, consequently driving down their assets and reputation slightly. Another risk that Pepsi took was that they would treat everyone fairly, and respectfully, with equal justice for all, unlike many other multi billion dollar enterprises. This risk met Pepsi with spectacular results, which quickly raised both their reputation, and product demand immensley. When Indra Nooyi was in the CEO position, her company took very many other risks, in regards to buying the many smaller companies that eventually became part of Pepsi Co. Following is a list of the corporations owned by Pepsi today. Breakfast Bars/Granola Bars

 Hickory Sticks Another risk Indra Nooyi took with Pepsi Co was producing new products. This was a gamble as junk food was slowly going out of demand, with consumers opting for "healthier" and weight watching diets, rather than cola and candy. Indra saw this, not as an obstacle but rather, an inspiration, using it to boost demand for Pepsi's new diet foods, eg. Diet Pepsi, and healthy snacks. Indra Nooyi had many characteristics that helped make her an entrepreneur. She is a visionary- she has ideas for the future, for developing the company, by forever pushing it to the edge of technology. She has passion- she has limitless drive to persue her goals and dreams. She has belief- she can convert ideas of hers and her colleagues into something meaningful. She has optimism- she forever sees the cup as half full, along with any and all obstacles that present themselves to her. She learns- her previous mistakes teach her for the future, and she recognizes where her improvement lies. She has creativity- she thinks out problems, and finds innovative solutions around them. She is ambitious- her inner drive compels her towards bigger and better things for the good of the company, and hers. Indra Nooyi, the CEO, President, and partial owner of Pepsi Co undeniably impacted the market economy and theory, and used the free market to her advantage. Indra Nooyi impacted the economic growth of the United States of America and the world immensely as she led her company, with extremely visible leadership qualities, towards growth and expansion, forever molding it into a company that would look towards change and expansion. This continuous growth of her company impacted economic growth as she produced, and is producing products that are in demand, and always will be in demand, for they would be evolving to the needs, and wants, of the consumers. This then would forever sustain the market economy, for that is the market system in which her company thrives in, for her company solely relies on demand, and free markets supply that. Indra Nooyi used the market economy of the US to her advantage very cleverly. She used the open system of the economy to develop Pepsi Co into a very influential enterprise, mainly through supplying almost exactly the demand of the consumers. Then, she used the leniancy of the governemt involvment to her advantage by buying smaller companies slowly, eventully buying almost all of the major brands that own even smaller, and more local brands. Essentially, Indra Nooyi boosted the economic system of the United States by developing her company, then buying smaller ones, which brought under her control, a very large amount of products, which would supply the demands of all consumers (especially food and consumption wise), thus benefitting the econoy of the US and all of is partners, namely CANADA She is courageous- her fears never outweigh her compulsion to create new products, or pursue new ideas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx7lz5X2vKk&feature=player_detailpage
