Historical Background
- President Roosevelt's 4 terms in service present the 4 rooms

- He served as President of the U.S. from 1933- 1945

- Each room represents a term, and there is also a waterfall representing what happened during the time

- It is located in the West Potomac Park between the Tidal Basin and the Potomac River in Washington D.C.

The 4 Rooms
Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial
- The F.D.R. Memorial is a presidential memorial located in Washington D.C.

- It is dedicated to the memory of U.S. president Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his time of president

- The memorial honors Roosevelt's 4 terms in office- it has 4 outdoor "rooms" for each term
Room 1
- The 1st term- 1933-1937
- The 1st room represented the Great Depression; the waterfall represents the downfall
Room 2
- The 2nd term- 1937-1941
- This room shows how President Roosevelt led America out of the great depression
Room 3
-The 3rd term- 1941-1945
- During this time, America went into World War II
Room 4
- The 4th term- 1945
- President Roosevelt died on April 12, 1945
