RE GCSE Belief in God This is about why some people believe in God and why some people do not. Why do some people believe in God? Some people are convinced by arguments 1. The Cosmological Argument This is all about looking for causes... So what is the cause of.... Here's the argument in written down... 1. Everything (like your tea) has a cause. 2. A chain of causes cannot go back forever. 3. If it did it would take an infinitely long time to get to now. 4. Therefore the chain of causes must have a beginning. 5. This FIRST cause can have no cause itself. Conclusion: This cause must be God 2. The argument from design... Supposing you were walking along a beach & saw a watch lying on the sand. Could this watch have
been formed by accident? This is impossible! It MUST have been designed because... Its far too complicated To have happened by accident So a complicated watch points to a watchmaker Is this too complicated to have happened by accident?
