Transcript of Make It Count with DECA

"DECA is an organization that has inspired me and taught me a lot in the past 3 years. Next year I will be a 4 year member and I don't regret any part of it. The whole entire DECA community is very welcoming and sweet. And I've learned more through DECA and marketing then I have in school. Some of the skills I've learned will stick with me for a very long time. I would advise everyone to join, it's not a mistake! The hard work pays off and you get to travel with some of the closest friends you'll make in high school."

What is DECA?
We are an organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in the fields of finance, management, marketing, and hospitality.
"DECA has come to mean so many things to me. It is an organization that has enabled me to make friends that will last a lifetime, an organization that has given me the opportunity to travel to places that I never dreamed I would go to in high school, and most importantly it's an organization that has taught me the importance of leadership in a fun, enjoyable way."

"When I got thrown into Marketing my Freshman year, all I could think was "Who cares about marketing?!" but by the end of the year I had found an organization to THRIVE in. Through competition, holding an office, and attending conferences I've grown more than ever before. I learned so much about what kind of person I wanted to be and what I wanted to do with my life and career. I can't imagine who I would be today without Ms. Brown and my fellow officers. My DECA friends are my BEST friends and as a part of the 2014 Senior class, I can't wait to finish out my last year with a bang. Joining was the best decision I've ever made and it could be your best decision too."
"DECA is an organization that has allowed me to come out of my shell and become a whole new person. I went from a shy sophomore girl to a young woman ready to shake anyone's hand. DECA has shown me that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to! So join DECA because you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!"

What Can YOU Get From DECA?
What Are You Waiting For... Join DECA!
What is DECA to ME?
"Honestly, when I first joined DECA, I had no clue what I was getting myself into. I didn't even know why I was in the marketing class. I only joined through peer pressure. Do it... Only kidding. But on a serious note, I do not regret this decision at all. DECA allows you to learn new things, while allowing you to hang out with your friends, make new ones, and just be yourself. DECA has helped me to see my true inner potential, and it can help you too. Not only can you compete on an international level, but you can travel to some exciting places, like Anaheim, California! DECA has been a true blessing to me, and it can be the same for you. So go ahead, join, what've you've got to lose.

What is DECA to ME?
"At first DECA was just an excuse to go to the fair during school but it turned into a lot more than that for me. It made me realize what I wanted to do in life and that I wanted to pursue a career in Marketing. It gave me the chance to meet so many new people and made memories with the HOCO DECA chapter that I won't ever forget."
