How The Brain Works By: Bin and Jaowad Have you ever wondered how we can do our daily routines? It is possible because of our brain. In this prezi we are going to talk about how the brain works. We will mention the names and the functions of the different parts of the brain . Intro Cerebrum is a large part of the brain which controls the thought, memory, emotion and senses. The cerebrum is divided in two pieces, the left side controls the right part of the body and the right side controls the left part of the body. The left side is more about logic, math, science, writing, etc and the right side is more about music, shapes, imagination, creativity, etc. It is opposite for southpaw. Cerebrum The cerebellum is located
at the back of the brain. It
is only 1/8 of the cerebrum. The cerebellum controls our movement, balance, and coordination. It gives muscles messages to move. Cerebellum The brain stem is connected with the spinal cord and made up with midbrain, pons , and medulla oblongata. Midbrain helps the brain to communicate to the nervous system, pons sends messages from cerebrum to cerebellrum, and medulla oblongata is located right above the spinal cord and helps with the heart beat, breathing, and much more. Brain Stem The end It is located in the center of the limbic system. It controls emotions for example fear and happiness. Amygdala gives you cue to your emotions like sweaty hands. It is located deep within the brain. It makes
new memories for long term storage. Without it "you'd be stuck in the past of memories". Hippocampus Frontal Lobe Frontal Lobe is located in front of the brain. Frontal Lobe helps to organize the thoughts, decisions, plans, etc. Temporal Lobe Temporal Lope is located at the side of your brain and it's function is to tell your brain that what is your ears listening to and what is your nose smelling. Parietal Lobe Parietal Lobe is located top of our brain and behind our Frontal Lobe. It's function is to tell you what you are feeling with your fingertips and lets your body know when you feel pain. Occipital Lobe Occipital lobe is located at the back of the brain. It processes visual information. Hypothalamus Hypothalamus is located at the base of the brain. It monitors the bodies blood pressure, temperature, and controls the bodies weight and appetite. Thalamus Thalamus is located below the cerebrum and above the brain stem. Thalamus is basically a relay station for nerve impulses that are only in the brain.
