Transcript of Elijah

Faith Acted on his faith Courage Elijah had to trust God to hide him while being hunted down by Jezebel, God told Elijah to go stand on the mountain during that. kinda like an extreme trust fall because if God didn't provide he would be totally screwed Trust Elijah was tested by God when he was told to drink from the brook and wait for food from the ravens Elijah was tested and grew in his faith Despair ELIJAH Elijah had faith that God would rain fire down on the altar and God did as Elijah requested Elijah had courage just like this penguin to stand up to the worshipers of Ba'al and proved that his God was the one and only Elijah acted on his faith when he prophesied that King Ahab would be cursed and that there would not be rain or dew for years until he gave the word. Elijah was in total despair when Jezebel tried to kill him and he had to run away, he felt like a failure and asked God to take his life because he did not want to live anymore 1 Kings 19:4 God Provides God's love is not dependent upon Elijah's actions or ours for that matter 1 Kings 19:4 1 Kings 17:6 1 Kings 18:38 1 kings 17:1 1 Kings 19:11-13 1 Kings 18:21 Elijah's name means: "My God is Yahweh", the Bible makes no mention of Elijah's family, except that he was a Tishbite. When God told Elijah to tell king Ahab he would be cursed and that there would be a drought he had to listen and learn to obey. Elijah had to have faith to try three times to bring the widow's son back to life and when it happened, just like in our day, we would be filled with more faith and it would be easier to trust God. When many of the prophets were killed by Jezebel, Elijah ran away and hid in a cave God took care of him and sent ravens to feed him. When Elijah challenged the worshipers of Ba'al it was a "showdown" between Elijah and Ahab on Mt. Carmel determining which god was real our God was the one who responded so we won. Elijah was a respected man because Elisha wanted a double portion of his spirit when he goes to heaven, then the chariot of fire came and Elijah ascended into heaven. Elisha was impacted by just observing the ministry of Elijah. By reading this we can be encouraged to listen to God without reservation and trust that he will take care of us. Elijah's story should be an encouragement to all christians as a rollmodel for faith. BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH I WROTE WORDS HERE THE END MY FRIENDS Elijah was prophesied to come back after his ascension we know the prophesy was true because he came back at the transfiguration was seen with Moses and Jesus Matthew 17:2-3 the cake isn't a lie Jezebel and Ahab Ahab ruled over Israel he and his wife Jezebel were evil in the sight of God and they worshiped the false god Ba'al and had altars built for Ba'al ELIJAH Although Elijah was fearful and afraid a little encouragement from God helped him to get back up and do God's will again. he was also encouraged when God sent angels to help and take care of him so his faith was strengthened. 1 Kings 19:3-4 Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he asked that he might die, saying, “It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life, for I am no better than my fathers.” Elijah's relationship with God Elijah's relationship with God was full of faith and miracles and doubt, trust and obedience, courage and tests.
Elijah was like us in the sense that he has trouble with his feelings.
We are never closer to defeat than in the moment of our greatest victory.
We are never as alone as we feel God is always there
God speaks more frequently in persistent whispers than in shouts. this is the best part of our project Ahab Elijah prophesied that Ahab would die because of his evil deeds and Ahab was humbled before God so God spared him 1 Kings 21:29 GOOD EVIL AHAB and
JEZEBEL ELIJAH
