Baden Powell
Joined the British army.
1876
Held a 7 day experimental camp for 20 boys on Brownsea island
1907
Married Olave and had 3 kids.
1912
Born on 22nd February in London, England
1857
1899
Declared a hero for defending Mafeking Town during Boer War. Promoted Major General by Queen Victoria
1910
Retired from British army and focused on the Scout Movement
1908
Scouting started in Malta
1913
Baden Powell visited Malta :)
also started Leadership Training in Gilwell.
1916
B-P wrote 'The Wolf Cub's Handbook' and Cub Scouts were established.
1920
1925
B-P acclaimed Chief Scout of the World.
Opened the International Scout Center in Kandersteg
1937
1941
Built and lived at his home in Nyeri, Kenya.
Gone Home on 8 January in Kenya, at the age of 83.
Scouting in Siggiewi
1935
Siggiewi Scout Group was established but disbanded in the early 50's because of the War.
1998
June 1998 SSG opened again and is still active till today.
